Meet Our Administration

Annie Williams

Owner

Annie was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She attended and graduated Florida State University with a bachelor's and a master's degree in Psychology. Annie discovered that there is a great need for specialized tutoring in the Tallahassee area and opened Tutors for Tally in May of 2017. With her unique skill set and knowledge in multiple learning styles, she has been able to successfully help numerous students. Annie makes it a priority to ensure that each family that attends Tutors for Tally receives the highest quality of services. When Annie isn't working, she enjoys spending time with her family, teaching Sunday school, and traveling. 

Kimberly Thigpen 

Director

Kimberly earned her bachelor's degree in Linguistics from the University of Florida, graduating in 2014. Some of her past positions include being an Administrative Assistant and teaching ESE Pre-K. Kimberly served as the Assistant Director at TFT for a year and a half before being promoted to Director. As the Director, she makes it a priority to build a relationship with each family that receives services at TFT. Kimberly serves as an advocate for students and has helped to bridge the communication gap between teachers, parents, and other service providers to ensure the success of all students. When Kimberly is not working, she enjoys playing guitar, painting, and spending time outdoors with her family. 

Meet Our Tutors

Mrs. Albers

Mrs. Albers is originally from Cuba and her passion is teaching Spanish. She believes that learning a second language should be fun and consist of hands-on activities that children enjoy. Whether she is teaching Spanish in individual lessons, small groups, or camps, she always finds an exciting way to teach the material. Mrs. Albers enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. 

Ms. James

Ms. James received her Master of Science Degree from Western Michigan University and her Bachelor of Science Degree from FAMU. She has taught mathematics to middle and high school students for over 35 years. Ms. James loves helping students learn and understand the world of mathematics. During her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends and attending FAMU events. 

Mrs. Jenkins 

Mrs. Jenkins received her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Florida State University. She is a certified teacher for the state of Florida with over forty years of teaching experience in the classroom. She loves teaching because she can impact children's lives and watch them learn and grow. In her free time, Mrs. Jenkins enjoys walking the trails of Tallahassee, completing word puzzles, and spending time with her family. 

Mrs. Justice 

Mrs. Justice was raised in Tallahassee, Florida. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Flagler College. She has taught multiple grade levels and really enjoys the tutoring environment where she can work 1 on 1 with students. In her spare time she enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her son and her dog Gretel. 

Mrs. Groover 

Mrs. Groover was born and raised in Georgia. She received her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, and her master's degree in Learning and Behavior Disorders from the University of Louisville. She earned her National Board Certification as an early childhood through young adulthood exceptional needs specialist while teaching in Tallahassee at Kate Sullivan Elementary. She taught students from Kindergarten to SAT prep classes and taught several different exceptionalities in Florida and Indiana. She is a Master Gardener, loves to to be in the garden, and is a prolific reader. 

Ms. Shuler 

Ms. Shuler was originally born in Texas and graduated with her bachelor's degree in Psychology. Her passion is reading, writing, and building confidence in children by assisting in advancing their skillset. She has worked with preschool and school aged children for over 10 years with most recent years working 1 on 1 with students. She is currently in route to graduate with her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and plans on continuing her work with children. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, baking, kayaking, spending time with family, and traveling; where she loves trying new food dishes. 

Ms. Olayiwola 

Ms. Olayiwola was born in Nigeria and moved to Tallahassee in 2000. She attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University for all her collegiate studies. She received her bachelor's degree in Accounting, master's in Healthcare Administration, and doctoral degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. She has seven years of experience tutoring adults in Mathematics at Tallahassee Community College. In her free time, Ms. Olayiwola enjoys exercising, traveling, and listening to music. 

Ms. Brinkley 

Ms. Brinkley is originally from Gainesville, Florida. She attended Florida State University where she received her bachelor's degree in Psychology and English and minored in Education. She is now pursuing her master's in Speech Language Pathology. Ms. Brinkley has always had a passion for working with children and is excited to bring her creative abilities into 1:1 tutoring. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, and attending concerts. 

Ms. Tomczak 

Ms. Tomczak was raised in Orlando, Florida and moved to Tallahassee to complete her B.A. at Florida State University. Upon completing her B.A. in English - Editing, Writing, and Media, she was accepted to FSU's M.A. program in Rhetoric and Composition where she is now working on obtaining her degree. As a graduate assistant, Ms. Tomczak teaches first-year writing and tutors students on campus at FSU. She loves working with students to improve their reading and writing skills. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing with her two cats, Kiki and Yams. 

Mr. Nooney 

Mr. Nooney was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. He received a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing from Elon University in 2018 and a master's in Humanities at the University of Chicago in 2020. He is now pursuing a Ph.D in English Literature at Florida State University. Mr. Nooney has years of experience tutoring K-12 students on their reading, writing, and comprehension skills. He enjoys reading, playing guitar, and seeing live music. 

Mrs. Weaver 

Mrs. Weaver has a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a minor in English and has held a Florida teaching certificate since 1988. She taught in Leon County public schools overseas. She has taught elementary grades in mission schools in Honduras, Guatemala, and Papua New Guinea. After 30 years of living abroad, she and her husband are happy to now be settled in Tallahassee. In her free time, Mrs. Weaver enjoys writing, swimming, canoeing, gardening, and visiting parks. She is grateful for the opportunity to work with students through Tutors for Tally. 

Ms. Billups 

Ms. Billups was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland where she attended three local colleges. She received her masters in elementary education from Johns Hopkins University. Ms. Billups has used her love of teaching to teach students in PreK-5th grade. She has experience teaching ELA, Writing, Science, and Social Studies as a 3rd-grade teacher. Now relocated to Tallahassee, she is eager to support students in growing their love of reading, improving their writing skills, and maintaining a curiosity about the world around them. When she is not working, Ms. Billups enjoys reading dystopian novels, decorating her island on Animal Crossing, and cooking delicious meals for her and her family 

Mr. Davis 

Mr. Davis is from Fort Lauderdale, FL and comes from a family of educators. He is an alumni of the Florida A&M University where he received his bachelor in education. Mr. Davis has over 8 years of teaching experience and is currently working on getting his masters in instruction and curriculum. When he is not at work or school, he loves to bake dessert, play video games, and spend time with his family and friends. 

Ms. Matiuk 

Ms. Matiuk is from Deerfield Beach, Florida and is a recent graduate of Florida State University. She has tutored 1:1 elementary through high school in all subjects. Ms. Matiuk is passionate about helping students better succeed in their education. In her free time, she loves to be outdoors, bake, cook, and spend time with her friends. 

Ms. Bradley 

Ms. Bradley is from Albany, Georgia and is currently finishing up her last year at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. She will receive her bachelor's degree in Computer Science, and her minor in Mathematics/Mathematical Systems in December of 2023. She is hoping to become a Mathematical Engineer for the service and S.P.A.C.E program. For 5 years she's worked with children in STEM and started early with peer 1v1 tutoring in both high school and college. In her free time, Marquisia loves sketching, coding, listening to music, and most of all, dancing. Marquisia hopes to bring a different light to mathematics, giving students that may dislike math a new profound confidence.
